Ecofeminism –
BETWEEN THEORY AND PRACTICE
What is the ecofeminist criticism of capitalism based on? Ecofeminists brought together feminist, ecological and decolonial issues as early as the 1970s. In doing so, they place life – and not just human life – at the center of analysis and political action.
With their introductory book, the authors want to carry ecofeminist analysis forward and make it usable for today’s feminist and climate struggles.
Why do we have to talk about social relations to nature, especially now in times of climate crisis and rampant anti-feminism?
In their reading, the authors examine the question of how we can reconnect with the ecofeminist theory and practice of the 1970s today and where we already see concrete points of departure for this in anti-capitalist practice.
On Thursday, April 11, 2024, the social scientist Nadine Gerner and the sociologist Lina Hansen will present their recently published book. The book launch starts at 7pm. More information about the new book on the website of the publisher Unrast Verlag. Admission is free.
